March 22-24, 2002
For my 23rd birthday, I wanted to get away from the
city for a weekend and soak in the beauty of nature. I met up with
Tom, Sung, Austin and Ed at Lake Nacimiento, which was located about halfway
between San Fran and LA. We arrived there late Friday evening, set
up camp, and had ourselves a grand old time doing what guys do
best.
Chillin'.

Pretty lake!

Wildlife was abundant. They wouldn't let us hunt deer
though...

|
This is the tent that we set up. At first it looks
innocent...but upon closer inspection: |

...Tom's butt was lurking underneath!! The horror!!
|
The first morning we decided to rent some boats and go
fishing. We figured we'd catch our dinner on a budget...using nice
fishing poles, two rented boats, some fishing licenses, and some tackle
equipment we had to buy...in retrospect it ended up being a $200 dinner. |

|
For some reason, having a fishing pole in our possession
made us do funny things with them like enacting fencing matches and acting
like we were directing planes.
It's good to know that we're maturing.

Wheeee!

Sung's steering the boat while Tom's...navigating...?

Ed's first catch!

Ed's second catch!
While handling the second fish, Ed was caught...in a
compromising picture still:

HA HA HA~!!

|
In all Ed caught four fish and I caught one, but we let
all of them go except this 17 inch large-mouth bass. She would
become the victim of our voracious appetites in the form of a delicious
broth. |

The Claremont boys chilling around the campfire

Cool, huh?
|
All in all, a great way to celebrate my 23rd. It
seems like I could never stay away from the water on my birthdays!
